If you get freezer burns on it, because air was entrapped in it, and frost developes, then toss it, its no good.
I would vacumn pack it, then you can have it last up to 6 years I believe...

put it in a bool of hot water in a plastic bag. (bag in bowl of water then cook it then eat it don't listen to these nutso.

put it in the fridge... before you go to work... when you get home... cook it and eat it. trust me.. you'll like it better this way
