what is a good cook book that is cheap ($20 or less) and one i can get from borders because im going there in 2 days im a beginner?also with pictures
Answers:
Check their clearance bins of course. The problem with cookbooks published in the last 10 years is that you usually only find only a few good recipes that you would want to make over and over again. Not worth the $20.00 for the book.
So instead go to a USED bookstore (or eBay or garage sales) and try and find one of the following cookbooks-----you should have at least ONE of these in your kitchen!!
There are a few 'bibles' of cookbooks out there. Betty Crocker (1961-1980), Joy of Cooking (1975 or earlier), Fannie Farmer (1965), Vintage Better Homes and Gardens (the 1960's). ALL of these were basic, comfort food cookbooks that shows you how to do things and great recipes. Nothing from a box. And you could use these cookbooks for the rest of your life (as our mothers and grandmothers still do!)

it"s written by Paula Dean she also has a cook show on the food channel
Boarders has usually some on sale books outside its door. linda fraser, vegetarian collection, chicken collection, italian, french, american...they cost around or less than 8$ and are great. each recipes has a picture and great details. i recommend that.
There are so many good cookbooks out there. It depends on your tastes. Look through them and choose one that uses few ingredients if you are a beginner. You need a good basic book with every day recipes - the kind that you and your family would prefer. Personally, with all that is available on the Internet today I'd forget buying a cookbook and check out cooking sites such as foodnetwork.com and find recipes I like and print them out and form my own book as I go. Many of these places also have step by step cooking videos. Food network offers such a variety of recipe types and styles of cooking that even the beginner will find something they like. Also, you can get a free magazine bi-monthly from Kraftfoods.com which has easy recipes for the beginner. Save your money and use it towards ingredients.
