Here is an easy cake to bake for beginners.

Three Egg Cake

An easy cake to make up from scratch.

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
3 eggs, separated
1/2 teaspoon plus 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/4 teaspoons cream of tartar
3 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla

PREPARATION:
Cream together butter and sugar; blend in the egg yolks. Add vanilla to milk. Sift together the dry ingredients. Alternating with milk mixture, add dry ingredients to the creamed mixture. Beat well.
Beat egg whites until stiff; fold into batter, mixing just until blended.

Pour batter into three greased and floured 8- or 9-inch cake pans or one greased and floured 13 x 9-inch baking pan. Bake layers at 375° for 20 to 25 minutes, or until a wooden pick or cake tester inserted in center comes out clean. Bake the one layer cake at 350° for 35 to 45 minutes, or until a wooden pick or cake tester inserted in center comes out clean.
Here's one of my favorite cake recipes, and it's relatively easy
3 cups all purpose flour 3 cups sugar
8 oz of sour cream 6 eggs
2 tablespoons lemon extract 1 tablespoon vanilla
1 teaspoon lemon peel 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
3 sticks of butter

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Heavily grease and flour either a bunt pan or a loaf pan. Cream the butter and sugar together until smooth. Add eggs one at a time and mix well after each addition. Add vanilla, lemon flavor and lemon peel. Mix until well blended. Alternately add flour and sour cream, begin and end with flour. Blend another three to five minutes until all ingredients are well blended. Pour into prepared pan and smooth with the back of the spoon. Bake for 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean. Let cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes then turn it out onto a cooling rack.
Well, i would think that if cake is your goal, then you should bake batter. If you bake a cake (cake is already cooked), then you will end up with a large lump of charcoal.
well you can either make it by scratch or buy a cake mix and follow directions on box.You usually use a mixer and your ingredients and then bake it in the oven for so long
Best Chocolate Cake with Fudge Frosting
Get ready for cake that’s a chocolate powerhouse and discover why its called the best!

2cups Gold Medal? all-purpose flour
2cups sugar
1/2cup shortening
3/4cup water
3/4cup buttermilk
1teaspoon baking soda
1teaspoon salt
1teaspoon vanilla
1/2teaspoon baking powder
2eggs
4ounces unsweetened baking chocolate, melted and cooled
Fudge Frosting (See Below)

1 . Heat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour bottom and sides of rectangular pan, 13x9x2 inches, 2 round pans, 9x1 1/2 inches or 3 round pans, 8x1 1/2 inches.
2 . Beat all ingredients except Fudge Frosting in large bowl with electric mixer on low speed 30 seconds, scraping bowl constantly. Beat on high speed 3 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally. Pour into pan(s).
3 . Bake rectangle 40 to 45 minutes, rounds 30 to 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool rectangle in pan on wire rack. Cool rounds 10 minutes; remove from pans to wire rack. Cool completely.
4 . Frost rectangle or fill and frost layers with Fudge Frosting.

Fudge Frosting

2cups sugar
1/2cup shortening
3ounces unsweetened baking chocolate
2/3cup milk
1/2teaspoon salt
2teaspoons vanilla

1 . Mix all ingredients except vanilla in 2 1/2-quart saucepan. Heat to rolling boil, stirring occasionally. Boil 1 minute without stirring. Place saucepan in bowl of ice and water. Beat until frosting is smooth and spreadable; stir in vanilla.

TIPS:

When making most scratch cakes, grease the side and bottom of the pans and dust each with about 1 tablespoon flour, tapping out excess (check your recipe).

Cool layer cakes in their pans on wire racks for 5 to 10 minutes. This keeps the cake from breaking apart, which it could if it's too warm and tender.
