Answers:
For hard boiled eggs I usually let them boil for about 25 to 30 min. I always check them by taking one out and seeing if it spins fast on the counter! An uncooked egg will not spin, they wobble...the spin test hasn't failed me yet! :-) My mom has a gadget that you put in the water with the eggs, it's shaped like an egg and it's red and yellow, when it changes colors, your eggs are done....if hard boiling eggs is that important to you...check WalMart or somewhere of the sort, they might have one.

Other Answers:
usually for 30 minutes or until the egg floats in the water

Three to four minutes if you want it soft, several more minutes if you want it to be hard boiled
Boil for 3 minutes for soft-boiled, 5 min for hard-boiled. Allow to sit in the warm water for same amount of time. Then pour cold water over, allow to cool before peeling.
30 min??? you trying to make the egg explode??? boil the eggs for 10 mins. then let them sit in the water another 10 minutes... then you can take them out and rinse them off and peal and there ya go...
Put the eggs in a pot of water. Heat the water until it is boiling. Then take the pot off of the heating source for ten minutes and your eggs should be boiled.

That's how my mom does it.
sorry, I lost the recipe.
First of all you have to fill your pot with water , enough to cover the eggs, and leave a little extra space. Then you turn the temperature to medium to medium high. You then have to let the water boil with the eggs in the pot. You will know when the eggs are done because the shells will begin to crack easily. This usually takes from 30 minutes to 40 minutes. Good luck!
For hard boiled, I would recommend not "boiling" them at all. Fill the pot with a single layer of eggs (don't over crowd). Fill with water an inch above the eggs. Heat the eggs until they just come to a boil. Once it starts boiling cover the pot and take it off the heat. Let the eggs cook like that for 15 minutes. Once the 15 minutes are up immediately put the eggs in a bowl full of ice water. Take them out when cool to touch, peel and enjoy. You will get awesome hard boiled eggs with no green weirdness around the yoke and no rubbery texture. They will be smooth and delish!
put egg in pan with inch of water over top. Bring to a boil, immediately simmer for 15 minutes...then run cold water over till cool to the touch:)
a dozen eggs 12 mins, half a dozen for 7, 3 for 6. Always works for me.

HARD-BOILED EGGS - Betty Crocker

1. Cold water at least 1 inch about egg(s)

2. Heat to boiling in saucepan; remove from heat. Cover and let stand 18 minutes. Immediately cool briefly in cold water to prevent further cooking. Tap egg to crack shell; roll egg between hands to loosen shell, then peel.

3. If shell is hard to peel, hold egg in cold water while peeling.
I usually place my eggs in a pot of cold water. Make sure there is enough water ot cover the eggs. Bring them to a boil. Remove from heat and cover. Time them for 20 minutes. Pour out the hot water and run cold water over them. Let sit in the pot of cold water a few minutes. Peeling them right away is easier than letting them get cold.
