Answers:
should come out with the tail when you're peeling them

Other Answers:
Run a very sharp knife GENTLY down the back; vein will lift out easily.

Use a knife to cut alone the back, And just pull it out using your fingers and then you can wash it. cut a slit down its back and pull it out

With a sharp knife, slit the back and push out the vein with your thumbnail.

Gently bend the prawn backwards -- just slightly, not all the way. The vein will stick out more and make it easier to remove. Use a deveiner or sharp knife and gently slice into the skin and pull out the vein.

Slice the back of the prawn after the head is removed and you will be able to see the VEIN, pull it out with our fingers - or leave it in, it's all extra meat. don't let it look in mirrors so much

Buy a shrimp peeler.

Pull it carefully out -- and don't forget to save it for flossing!

i find a shrimp deveiner akward to use so instead, i use a sharp kitchen scissors. i gently bend the head down, insert the scissors from the head side and slice down along the rim of the back. then i rinse the shrimp under cold water as i pull the vein out. the ridge of the back guides the scissors so that it don't go down too deep into the flesh of the shrimp.
