Mushy Peas I


INGREDIENTS:

* 1 (10 ounce) package frozen green peas
* 1/4 cup heavy cream
* 1 tablespoon butter
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

DIRECTIONS:

1. Bring a shallow pot of lightly salted water to a boil over medium-high heat. Add frozen peas, and cook for 3 minutes, or until tender.
2. Drain peas, and transfer to a blender or large food processor. Add cream, butter, salt and pepper to peas, and process until blended, but still thick with small pieces of peas. Adjust seasonings to taste, and serve immediately.



Mushy Peas II


INGREDIENTS:

* 2 tablespoons olive oil
* 1 bunch green onions, chopped
* 1 teaspoon chopped fresh mint
* 1 pound frozen green peas, thawed
* 2 tablespoons butter
* 1/2 teaspoon sea salt and ground black pepper to taste

DIRECTIONS:

1. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add green onion, mint, and peas. Cover, and cook for 3 to 4 minutes. Mash peas with a potato masher. Stir in butter, and season with salt and pepper.

Listen - you get large dried marrowfat peas. |Then you boil them in water with some bicarb of soda & sugar in them until they fall apart. then you add good green colouring & drain. Boil the water off until they are thick & yummy. Don't need to mash 'em!
