I would like to know how to tell where my gas levels on my gas tanks for my gas grill

Answers:
Pour boiling water over the tank. A clear distinction will appear where the gas is.

Other Answers:
Weight is about the only way I know how but ask at your propane supplyer I think there is some thing to put on the tank to tell you.

Some tanks have guages but othewise you have to weigh it Weight. Propane is liquid until mixed with air. An empty tank is very light.

Um, look at the gauge.

Ask your supplier for the weight of a full tank and also the weight of an empty one, that will give you the weight of a full tank's contents. By weighing your own tank you will be able to tell the amount of the contents.

I'll give you an idea for a home-made method to know the remaining level of your gas tank.

You'll have to do your homework first.
You'll need a scale.

Step 1: fill up the gas tank.
Step 2: weight it using the scale.
Step 3: use the gas tank till it is empty.
Step 4: weight the gas tank again.

Now, the next time you want to know how much gas is left, you only have to weight your gas tank, and interpolate the figures.
This will give you an idea about the remaining gas level.

Hope this helps.

You can get a gauge which sticks on the side of the tank. It is a vertical strip of plastic with similar temperature sensitive stuff as a forehead thermometer strip. The vapor inside the tank will always be warmer (closer to air temp)than the liquid propane at the bottom so the stick on gauge shows you how high your tank is filled. Much better than lugging a tank on and off your bathroom scale :>)
