2 lb. ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 cup fresh bread crumbs
1/3 cup A.1. Original Steak Sauce
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
PREHEAT oven to 350°F. Reserve one-half can of the tomato sauce. Mix remaining tomato sauce with the meat, onions, bread crumbs, steak sauce, eggs and pepper until well blended.
PRESS mixture into 9x5-inch loaf pan.
BAKE 50 min.; pour off fat. Top with the reserved one-half can tomato sauce; bake an additional 10 min. or until meat loaf is cooked through (160°F). Let stand 10 min. before cutting into slices to serve.
*** I have tried it and the ingredients are pretty easy to find,if I dont have the A-1 sauce I just use any BBQ sauce and that will do****

www.allrecipes.com has a TON of different recipes. Personally, I'd call my mom (or his) and get the "family" recipe.
meat, eggs, onion soup mix ,ketchup, spices, mix all togehter, put in pan cover with bbq sauce bake 350 for about 2 hrs........
Use about a pound of ground beef, mixed with 1and a half cups of crackers crushed in a ziploc with a rolling pin (get unsalted tops, you can season yourself), mix with 3/4 cup of ketchup and two eggs. Salt and pepper to taste. Shape into loaf in shallow pan. Bake at 325 degrees for forty-five minutes.
hamburger, eggs, ketchup, salt, pepper, breadcrumbs
every one has their own version, mine is,one to two pounds hamburger.depending on the number of ppl,put burger in large bowl, add about 15 to 20 crackers, crumbled, add one to two eggs, season to taste, form into a loaf, bake at 350 till done all the way through add sauce bake a few more min ,serve.
Hamburger, green pepper, onion, salt, pepper,sm can tomatoe sauce, crushed saltine crackers, 1 egg. Mix together, bake at 350 for 45 minutes, top with ketchup, bake another 15 min. Yum.
I start with ground turkey( leaner and better than beef, but you may use whatever) saute chopped onions and garlic( this is where creativity comes in , use whatever you have on hand and sauteing creates a depth of flavor to anything and helps flavor the meat) add to meat, add salt, pepper, whatever spices you enjoy, I Love Old Bay, eyeball the amounts using the plam of your hand, which equals about a tablespoon, add a tablespoon or so of BBQ sauce, soy sauce or worchetsire sauce, and 1 egg or 1/2 cup or so breadcrumbs( you need a binder) shape into a loaf and place on a greased cookie sheet ( if usuing turkey, you may want to omit this if using beef) instead of a loaf pan , it will cook much faster, spread BBQ sauce or ketchup on the the top and place in oven at 400 degrees for 30 minutes or until done. Hope this helps, and hope you get creative with this meal , anything goes, its fun to also place shredded cheeses in the middle when you are shaping it , it gives a great surprise right in the middle!

From my brain :)
When people make meatloafs, they often make it with breadcrumbs which results in a very dry and tasteless meal.
The number 1 thing you can do to make a better meatloaf is to use a panade instead of breadcrumbs.
A panade is essentially bread soaked in cream (you could use milk if you wanted, but meh).
As for the ingredients, I always suggest using a mirepoix, that being carrots onions and celery that sweated. To do this you add the veggies to a pan and gently cook them till they become soft and slightly translucent (for onions and celery mostly). Use the oil in the recipe as it contains quite a bit of flavour.
The meatloaf should come together fairly well. Remember not to overcook it.
Also, you should season the meatloaf according to a meatball recipe. I often find meatloaf recipes to be rather bland.
1 lb ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
1 egg lightly beaten
1/2 cup oats
topping:
1/3 cup ketchup
1 to 2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp mustard
mix all meat loaf ingredients well, shepe into loaf and place in baking dish or cast iron skillet. mix topping ingredients and spread on loaf. bake 1 hour at 375
this is how my mom made it, and it's the best recipe i have found for meatloaf.
For just a few people, you need 1 lb. of ground meat (any kind), 1 egg, bread crumbs (about a cup should do it as its just a binder to hold everything together), 1 bell pepper cut to bite size pieces, onion if you like it, salt and pepper (seasoning salt is good too if you like it) and ketchup. I never really measure it but its probably half a cup. You want to mix it by hand and put it in a pan. You can use any shape really. Some people like a loaf pan but I usually use a round one and form it into a mound. Bake it about 30-45 minutes in a 350 degree oven. Sometimes I put a layer of ketchup on top to keep it from drying out.
I would use about 2 Lb.s of 85-90% ground beef. Two eggs, 1/2-1 cup crumbs, 1/3 cup Worcestershire sauce, about half a can of tomato soup. mix it all together in a bowl, (with your hands) and shape into as loaf, and bake in a baking dish (13x9 is fine) in a preheated 350 degree oven for about an hour. YUM!!!
Don't quote me, but maybe an electric mixer might work since mixing it with ones hands is the hardest part that I never did enjoy much when I used to make it.
There are thousands or recipes on the Internet as for what to add to it which is more of a matter of ones taste.
the way my mom & grandmother makes it is the best about 1-2lb. hamburg, 1 onion, 1 green pepper, 1 egg, 3-4pieces of bread (real bread not crumbs just crumble it)
bake at 350 for 45mins & top w/tomatoe paste
also add any seasonings you like salt, pepper, garlic, onion salt, sason, adobo. Any seasonings that you like. be creative
good luck!
2lbs. chopped chuck
1 med. yellow onion
1 egg
2 tablespoons fresh thyme or dry oregano dry thyme sucks, do not use !
1 1/4 cup Bread crumbs
1/2 small can of tomato paste
1/3 cup Worcestershire sauce
salt and pepper to taste (my taste is 1 tspn salt 1/2 pepper
mix all the above except for the Paste & worstershire
form into loaf mix the paste & worster. and spread across the top of the loaf. Place in preheated oven at 350 degrees for one hour or until it reaches at least a 155 degree internal temperature(if you have a meat thermometer).
remove and, well, EAT IT !
I do this all by looks with no measuring but I use
oatmeal
Worcestershire sauce
pepper
Italian seasoning (or oregano)
onions or onion powder
garlic (i like fresh but garlic salt also works.)
and 2 eggs
Mix it up
sometimes I will mix it with 1/2 ground sausage or 1/2 turkey with the hamburger.
then for a sauce on top:
Ketchup
vinegar(lemon juice/pickle juice also work)
and brown sugar. Mix those to taste and put it on top.

2 pounds ground beef. Pepper. One egg. One onion, diced.A handful of oats. Another handful of chip crumbs (I used Wavy Lays) and one or two pieces of bread, in smallish pieces. Sounds gross but everyone raves over it...I put ketchup on top, of course!
