Ohh! I think i have just the recipe you are looking for. I love it so much, but I dont know why I barely make it. It is really simple. Here it is:

1/2 cup melted butter OR margarine
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup sour cream
8 1/2 oz. package cornbread muffin mix
15 oz. can creamed corn
15 oz. can whole kernal corn, undrained

Combine all ingrediants.
Pour into a greased 9" * 9" * 2" casserole dish.
Bake in 375* oven for 40 minutes or until center is set.
Serves 8

It's as easy as 1-2-3! Go ahead and eat as much as you want!

that sounds gross

sounds like corn pudding. my mom makes it and it's sooooo good. sorry, but i don't have a recipe for it. but if that's what it is, i'm sure you can google it! 'scalloped corn'? I don't know what that is... However, it seems like I've had a tasty dish with both corn And cornbread. The only thing I've made myself that was closest to that was my chili/cornbread casserole. I fix the chili, and I can add beans, corn, onions, etc.. to it as I wish, then mix the cornbread, and poor the mix on top, and pop it in the oven for the appropriate amount of time told on the mix package. Oh yeah, if I want I can put slices of cheese on top afterwards. It's so good!

nope all i ever had was cake, never made it on time for a weeding

Probably a cornbread cassarole, ask the hostess or the caterer.

It does sound like some sort of corn pudding. I have made corn pudding before and I found an awesome recipe for it on Epicurious.com. They specialize in restaurant recipes. Well I know a really good dish, but it involves sausage too... it's called "tadpole in a hole."

Shortening
1 egg
1 can corn
1 (4 oz.) pkg. Cheddar cheese
1 (7 or 8 1/2 oz.) cornbread mix
1 pkg. sm. smoked sausage links

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Grease baking dish or pan. Mix egg into mixing bowl, add can of corn and half of cheese. Mix well. Add muffin mix. Spoon the batter into baking dish. Arrange sausage links on top of batter. Bake for 30 minutes. Sprinkle remaining cheese on top. Let stand 5 minutes, cut in squares. Serve.

I suppose it would work the same if you took out the sausage.

It sounds like it was either corn paw or scalloped corn, both are delicious. Cream corn, regular corn, cornmuffin mix, sourcream. check a recipe book for the exact amounts. It's an old family recipe, so I hope you find it.
