Answers:
dont be worried your ok you have to worry about the tall ones
Other Answers:
I don't think there is a minimum height requirement in any hotel/restaurant.
What does your height have to do with anything? All that should matter is if you are a really good cook or good at managing hotels and restaurants...Good luck!
Of course it's possible! It would be discrimination for people not to hire you based on height. It's illegal.
go ahead and realised your dream. height should not be a problem if you are working at "back of house" as a cook or chef. maybe some managers will try to belittle you but if you are really good at what you do, don't be afraid to let your work stand tall!!
just go for it and get big

i think
Height and Nationality are of no consequence in these roles, if you have the experience and qualifications then go for it:)
of course it is. Tom cruise is like 5'2" and he is a big screen movie star. You have to have good cooking skills, be on time, have great time management, you will have to be the manager of everyone so you will have to have good communication skills. You need to pick one or the other, those are really two different positions.
If you are in the States, just remember there are laws to help stop discrimination of this type. If you can demonstrate you are willing, able and capable of doing a job - there isn't any reason or way you can be denied the opportunity.
I do think taking a course is an excellent start. Don't underestimate the connections and networking you will achieve by doing this. The people you study with today, will be the future middle management and managers of tomorrow!
Stand tall and make an impression of enthusiasm, intelligence and natural charm, and go for the dream - I did!
Cheers
I don't understand why anyone, who has the resources to go to school, would choose an industry where you are requred to work weekends, nights, holidays and shift work (where you close one shift and open the next). The quality of life in Restaurant Management is horrible. I can't count how many Christmases I spent working. Or New Years, or Mother's Days, Fathers days. How many weekend trips I missed. If you can go to school choose another industry where the quality of life is better. You only have one. I worked in the Restaurant industry over 20 years by accident. I was always going back to school to be a teacher and it never happened. You can always have great holiday parties and cook up a storm to fulfill your love of cooking!
