Answer:
Halal is very, very similar to the word KOSHER.

The word Halal means "proper and permitted." Halal food is permitted by Allah (God) for Muslim consumption and includes all fruits, vegetables and grains. This was all the definition required for followers of Islam before the growth of processed foods. The processing of foods makes many formerly "vegetarian" meals, breads, yogurts or cereals no longer considered halal.

In Islam, Halal is an Arabic term meaning “lawful or permissible” and not only encompasses food and drink, but all matters of daily life.

As to the method of slaughter for halal meat:
So you think bludgeoning, putting a bolt thru a cows head, or electrocution is humane?? Here is a little more info about halal meat for those that are interested.
"Many allegations have been made that Islamic slaughter is not humane to animals. However, Professor Schultz and his colleague Dr. Hazim of the Hanover University, Germany, proved through an experiment, using an Electro encephalograph (EEG) and Electro Cardiogram (ECG) that *Islamic slaughter is The humane method of slaughter and captive bolt stunning practiced by the western method, causes severe pain to the animal. The results surprised many.

Experimental Details:
1. Several electrodes were surgically implanted at various points of the skull of all animals, touching the surface of the brain.
2. The animals were allowed to recover for several weeks.
3. Some animals were slaughtered by making a swift, deep incision with a sharp knife on the neck cutting the jugular veins and carotid arteries of both sides; as also the trachea and oesophagus-Halal Method.
4. Some animals were stunned using a captive bolt pistol - humane slaughter by the western method.
5. During the experiment, EEG and ECG were recorded on all animals to record the condition of the brain and heart during the course of slaughter and stunning Results and Discussion:

I. Halal Method
1. The first three seconds from the time of Islamic slaughter as recorded on the EEG did not show any change from the graph before slaughter , thus indicating that the animal did not feel any pain during or immediately after the incision.
2. For the following 3 seconds, the EEG recorded a condition of deep sleep - unconsciousness. This is due to a large quantity of blood gushing out from the body.
3. After the above mentioned 6 seconds, the EEG recorded zero level, showing no feeling of pain at all.
4. As the brain message ( EEG ) dropped to zero level, the heart was still pounding and the body convulsing vigorously (a reflex action of the spinal cord) driving maximum blood from the body: resulting in hygienic meat for the consumer.

The use of the term varies between Arabic-speaking communities and non-Arabic-speaking ones.

In Arabic-speaking countries, the term is used to describe anything permissible under islamic law, in contrast to haraam, that which is forbidden. This includes behaviour, speech, dress, conduct, manner and dietary laws (listen to some aspects of halal).

In non-Arabic-speaking countries, the term is most commonly used in the narrower context of just Muslim dietary laws, especially where meat and poultry are concerned, though it can be used for the more general meaning as well [1]. This dichotomy of usage is similar to the Hebrew term "kosher".

In Arabic, the word halal means permitted or lawful. Halal foods are foods that are allowed under Islamic dietary guidelines. According to these guidelines gathered from the Qu'ran, Muslim followers cannot consume the following:

pork or pork by products

animals that were dead prior to slaughtering

animals not slaughtered properly or not slaughtered in the name of Allah

blood and blood by products

alcohol

carnivorous animals

birds of prey

land animals without external ears

These prohibited foods and ingredients are called haram, meaning forbidden in Arabic.
Halal is One of the Most Humane Methods of Animal Slaughter
Muslims are taught through the Qu'ran that all animals should be treated with respect and well cared for.
Halal is another form of rating food. Like the Jewish people have Kosher food the Middle East have halal food. Halal also means that their food is certified okay to be eaten by people of the Islamic faith.

It means that the restaurant serves foods that are prepared according to Islamic dietary laws. It is virtually identical to Kosher food-- many Muslims buy food labeled as Kosher because the rules are about the same (Muslim foods are less strict). No pork or blood, no meat and dairy in the same meal, no alcohol, etc.
Edit: Meat and dairy ARE allowed in the same meal, often in the same dish. I got that confused with kashrut (Kosher). This is actually the main difference between the two.
Did you spell Halal correctly. OK
Your food was ceremoniously prayed over and the slaughter (to practice on Non Believers) was more religiously observed than any beheading in
allahs name.
Insanity can holy holy better than any of fools who try to explain truth,.
Halal is the Muslim way of food preparation according to their religious beliefs.
Kosher is to Jew as Halal is to Muslim.
Kind of like how Jews eat kosher.
Us Muslims eat Halal food. That means the animal has to be slaughtered in a certain way and no nejasa poured or rubbed in the meat.
Also it means there are no pork based products... no Alcohol added to the food... etc.
Halal is the most inhumain and cruel type of meat regularly avalible. They slaughter the meat by stabbing it in the juggular and then letting it blead to death while hanging upside down (and facing mecca).

Most meat in america, while although it's still slaughtered, and you could make an argument that killing an animall is always cruel, is killed in a relativly quick, painless and efficient way.
On the contrary, the halal method of slaughtering is the most painless for the animal. It is not 'STABBED' to death, rather, right before the knife is introduced on the neck, it is given cool water and a massage to relax the animal. Only then is it permissible to continue the slaughtering.

This method is also the healthiest, as all the blood from the body is quickly and effectively drained, preventing the consumption of blood. In America, animals are electrocuted, shot or even beaten....maybe thats what you consider 'humane'
