Um, it is actually in the Bible that they ate meat. So I would assume that Jesus did. Originally before Adam & Eve ate from the forbidden tree, we were to be vegetarians. There are Christians who do believe that we should eat today as God intended for us to, and thus are vegetarians.

Plants are alive as well! They feel pain too, they breath oxygen as well.They should also be treated with compassion, especially since they are the only way oxygen is continuously replenished in the atmosphere. They die of thirst when water is scarce, anddrown in water when floods or storms strike.
But they are not able to bleat, or shout when they are attacked, or able to impress you with tricks, like a dog that rolls over when you order it to.
Lets not get into this discussion about pain. Stop hurting plants. Go hungry! I don't think animals are protected in that way by the Bible and vegeterains they kill plants and the babies of plants which is worse. Plants can't run.
