Can anybody tell me some typical day to day home cooked dinners which are eaten in america. (the kind of food thats made at home>salads,tacos,burritos,pizza,ro... and veges, stew,
taco salad,ham and cheese salad,
roasted chicken and salad
its too hot here not to take advantage of easy food that are good for you---
I grew up on steak, baked potatoes, wild rice, and iceberg lettuce salad in the midwest. Now it's more like pasta, enchiladas, tons of seafood, roast Cornish game hens, non-iceberg lettuce salads, nothing that I used to eat growing up.
I live in Texas, and this is cattle country, so beef is cooked many ways. Spaghetti, lasagna, hamburgers, meat loaf, chicken fried steak, pot roast, beef ribs, beef pot pie, beef stew, and , of course, in the summer those back yard grills are smoking with grilled T-Bones and sirloin strips.
Hot Dogs & Hamburgers??
we pretty much eat different foods from different parts of the world since our population is so diverse. but i suppose some more traditional american meals would be something like pot roast with gravy and mashed potatoes.
Sure. I live in KS...in the dead center of the country.
Today, we ate waffles for breakfast with maple syrup and butter, and drank milk with them.
For lunch, we had beef and bean burritos with sour cream, tomato, hot salsa, and onions. (okay, so burritos are somewhat mexican, but my husband is mexican.)
For dinner, we had chicken breaded with corn flake crumbs, then fried, and chilled sliced cucumbers with hot sauce and lime juice, and also had corn on the cob with salt and butter.
Typical american dinners:
Hamburgers on buns with lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise.
Chips or fries, and a soft drink. (coke)
Macaroni & cheese, sliced fresh tomatoes, and canned green beans.
Hot dogs.
Fried fish with macaroni & cheese.
Spaghetti with meat sauce and garlic bread and a salad.
Any meat with any potato and any vegetable.
Lasagne
Soup & salad.
Soup & Sandwiches.
Sunday was Fried Chicken and mashed potaoes
Monday Meat loaf with home fries and green beans or peas
Tuesday Roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy green beans
Wednesday Ham with macaroni and cheese
Thursday Chili and cornbread
Friday Fish and chips or Tuna casserole
Saturday Hamburgers and potato chips
A typical week in the midwest.
