Answer:
They have prawn based flavouring. I know because I have a pack of authentic Chinese ones in front of me. They contain: Starch, Water, Prawn extract (7%), Sugar, Salt. (Ingredients of Gold-Plum Pink Prawn Crackers [Product of China])
No.
Prawn crackers to eat with prawns as oyster crackers are to eat with oyster stew.
I don't think so, i think you can get prawn crakers from supermarkets that have the vegeterian logo on them. I think prawn crakers are chinese food.
they are made of flour (usually Tapioca flour or potato flour) and flavoured with fish, prawns or vegetables.
No prawns were harmed in making prawn crackers.
if it is along the lines of oyster crackers they may be crackers in the shape of prawns. but i have never seen them
Yes even if they make up a small percentage.
Sharwood's Prawn Crackers Ingredients:
Tapioca Starch, Vegetable Oil, Prawns (3%) Sugar, Salt, Flavour Enhancer, Monosodium Glutamate.
there made from..cows fingernails
Yes. They mush all those little pink critters up into a paste (including their eyes) and deep fry them. Yum yum
No. It made from flour and other ingredients.
I have never had prawn crackers. However I have had oyster crackers and they are not made from oysters. I have seen dog biscuits and there are no dogs in them. I guess two words being next to each other does not make an ingredient list.
No, they're flavored with fish sauce or Nam Pla.
I don't know where you get your prawn crackers from, but the packet I have in front of me now is "CHIEN WAH" brand and was made in The People's Republic of China. The ingredients are -
starch 75%, prawn meat 5%, water, sugar, salt, flavour enhancer (621).
That last one - 621 - is Mono-sodium Glutamate, often used in China, but to which many Westerners are allergic. If you feed kids with these things, they'll go all ratty and uncontrollable (more than usual, that is) and suffer pains in the digestive tract.
No more than girl scout cookies are made with ...........you guessed it!...
Possibly
"Prawn Crackers is an Indonesian and Malaysian snack consisting of deep fried crackers made of flour and flavoured with fish, prawns or vegetables."
I guess they have traces of fish and prawns. I also know a few brand made with lobsters and some are totally vegeterian. It really depends on the brand that you got. Read the labels at the back.
No, they are made from wheat flour and prawn flavoured like chicken flavoured crisps.
hehehehe. nope they are not. they usually use essence of prawn. but it would be interesting to have real prawns made in to crackers right? :)
It depends. My husband's favourite brand is really made from prawns but they're a lot more expensive than the everyday brands.
YES CONFIRMED!!!! I once went to a prawn crackers factory & I saw prawns being mashed into a machine to make them as CRACKERS........
They can be but they also have other versions that have prown flavoring but not the real thing. Just depends on the brand
