My friend is jewish and we are planning an outing but first we are going to have lunch. We decided against going out to restraunts and stuff cause she has to eat food that is halal and I cant really eat junk food or rich food so I suggested she have lunch round my house but I dont know what foods is halal please help! I would appreciate any advice you could give.

Answer:
If she is really observative, don't serve meat unless you know it is kosher, and what ever you do, DO NOT SERVE ANY TYPE OF PIG. Also, no meat and milk together, not even in the same meal let alone the same dish. This includes all dairy products (i.e. milk, butter...). Also, no seafood except certain fish, like salmon, trout, telapia, and tuna. (They have to have scales and fins). If you are going to have desert, no geltain, because this is not alwasy kosher, since it comes from aminals.
Try not to order out, because, even if you get her a pasta dish with a cream sauce, some places do put chicken/beef broth.stock in it, which is not allowed.
I hope this helped, at least a bit, and if you have any questions feel free to Instant Message me.
Well, I am Muslim, so i know a lot about halal foods. DO NOT EAT PORK. Also, beef and chicken outside is very risky too. But if you're sure that they slaughtered the animal. If you want to cook beef or chicken yourself, make sure you get the meat from a halal place. Try and ask people around where you live and ask them for a local halal store. Marshmallows and some jellos have gelatin in it, and if you go to a halal store you can find marshmallows and jellos with beef gelatin. I may be a Muslim, but Jews also have the same rules.
okay well im not jewish but i am muslim and i eat halal food. jews and muslims both eat halal foods. well if my friend invited me over i would like something not tthat fancy for lunch.

- do NOT order anything. anything but meat.
- if you get something with meat for her, eat the same kind. she will appreaciate it if you and her both eat halal

- what about a sub? make it veggie. practically EVERYONE loves subs. especially from subway. you could get subway and bring it to your house or make them yourself. you can go out and buy halal meat [expensive in most places. and turkeys hard to find halal] or you can make veggie subs. and dont eat normla meat in front of her. its rude.

here are some sites to help you:

the other snasweres tell u everything u need to know....i can just add that in france for example kfc runs helal food, so ask them, maybe where u live it is the same
Your friend probably eats kosher foods, not halal. She cannot eat pork, rabbit or shellfish. She cannot mix meat and dairy at the same meal - a cheeseburger is out of the question. She can't have butter on a potato if she is eating steak (butter substitute is okay). She can have butter with fish - you can butter the bread with a tuna sandwich. All fruits and vegetables are kosher. So you would be safe with a salad.
No, she's eating foods that are kosher. Halal is similar, but it's Muslim.

Since you haven't said where you live, you might want to check this site:
