I've only had this dish once several years ago,a freind where I used to work made it and it was delicious ,does anyone have a recipe for this.
Answer:
HOT GERMAN POTATO SALAD
1 1/2 lbs. potatoes
2 tbsp. bacon bits
3 tbsp. minced onion
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. coarsely ground pepper
2 tsp. dried parsley flakes
1/4 c. boiling water
1/2 tsp. granulated beef bouillon
1/4 c. cider vinegar
Boil potatoes until tender (not mushy). Peel and slice into a deep bowl, add bacon bits, onion, salt, pepper and parsley. Dissolve bouillon in boiling water. Add along with vinegar. Toss lightly. Serve warm. Add some chopped pickles for a piquant flavor if desired. Makes 6 servings. (84 calories each).
I sometimes substitute the bullion and water with olive oil - just as good but more calories
that will make you sick b/c the mayo you put it in shouldn't be warm
Mmm, NOT only does it sounds scrumptious, but I feel hungry reading this question! I never even heard of HOT potato salad. Mmm Mmm good, I bet! Good luck on getting an answer!
If it had bacon and a mustardy flavor, you might be thinking of German Potato Salad. Search for that and see if the recipes look like what you remember.
It is a German recipe. Google it, there should be several turn ups.
I've never had it but it sounds good.
