Answer:
Korean BBQ or Bulgogi:
+ Soy sauce
+ Sesame oil
+ Sugar
+ Black pepper
+ Onions (sliced)
+ Garlic (minced)
+ Green onions (sliced)
+ Ginger
+ Kiwi (or apple or asian pear) This tenderizes the meat.
Beef should be very thinly cut. Mix and marinate.
I was able to find this very friendly recipe for bulgogi for those unfamiliar with Korean food:
http://www.asianinfo.org/asianinfo/issue...
For chicken, use chicken wings and eliminate the fruit, onions and green onions.
I'm not sure which radish and potato dish you were talking about because there are many different ways to prepare it so it would be helpful if you knew the name for it.
First you have to know a person from Korea, then invite them to your house for dinner. Then grab the BBQ sauce, the meat and get the coals ready.
First you find your self a Korean.
Second securer them and baste them in a soy sauce marinate.
Third add some chiken or beef for flavoring.
Slow roast over coals for about 1 hours
KOREAN BBQ BEEF
1 lb. beef top loin-sirloin
1/4 c. soy sauce
3 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. sesame oil
1/4 green pepper, sliced
1/4 tsp. pepper
3 green onions, chopped
1/4 lb. mushrooms, sliced
1 head broccoli (flowerets only)
Trim fat from beef; cut diagonally across grain into 1/8 inch slices. Mix all ingredients except mushrooms and broccoli. Stir in beef, cover and refrigerate 30 plus minutes (overnight is best). Steam broccoli in wok, remove. Drain beef; stir-fry in wok until light brown. Add mushrooms, stir fry briefly. Add broccoli, stir well. Serve over hot cooked rice.
MUN'S KOREAN BBQ
1 - 1 1/2 lbs. chicken (boned breast and/or thighs) or beef short ribs (approximately 1/4 inch thick)
1/4 c. soy sauce (Aloha Shoyu works best but you can try another low salt brand)
1 tsp. sesame oil
1 tsp. fried sesame seeds
1 lg. clove garlic, minced
2 green onions
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1/8 tsp. fresh ginger, minced (chicken only)
1 tsp. honey
1/4 tsp. crushed chili pepper (or more if desired)
1 dash of MSG
Put shoyu into a large mixing bowl; add the garlic, ginger (if used), and green onion. Stir for 1 minute. Add the honey, black pepper, sesame oil, MSG, sesame seeds, and chili pepper. Add meat dipping in sauce to get even coating. Cover and marinate for 1 hour. Broil (charcoal broiling is best) and serve.
Boning chicken:
Boning breasts - Use a sharp knife and cut down the side of the breast bone to the rib cage. Then angle the knife to follow the contour of the ribs. Lastly, remove the wishbone.
Boning thighs - Use a sharp knife to cut down the center of the inside of the thigh. Then rotate the thigh bone and follow its contour with the knife.
Most Important!! - Score the chicken pieces with a sharp knife and cut in two before marinating.
Bulgogi (Korean Barbecued Beef)
INGREDIENTS
3 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
1 clove garlic, minced
1 teaspoon white sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon monosodium glutamate (MSG) (optional)
1 pound beef top sirloin, thinly sliced
1 carrot, julienned
1 green onion, chopped
1/2 yellow onion, chopped
DIRECTIONS
In a large resealable plastic bag, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, sesame seeds, garlic, sugar, salt, black pepper, and MSG. Place beef, carrots, and onions in the bag; seal, and shake to coat the vegetables and beef with the sauce. Refrigerate for at least 2 1/2 hours. I prefer to marinate mine overnight.
Preheat an outdoor grill for high heat. Remove meat and vegetables from marinade, and place on a large sheet of aluminum foil; seal. Discard marinade.
Place on grill, and cook for 15 to 20 minutes, or to desired doneness.
Bangja Gui (Korean BBQ Beef in a Lettuce Wrap)
1 1/4 lbs sirloin or rib eye steaks
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
4 scallions, 2-inch long julienne strips
3 tablespoons soy sauce
2 teaspoons sesame oil
1-3 teaspoon cayenne chili powder
1 teaspoon sugar
1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
10-12 large lettuce leaves (I recommend Boston lettuce)
3 garlic cloves, sliced thinly
Cut the steak into thin slices 3 inches long and 2 inches wide. This can be done easily if the steak is half frozen. Mix the steak with salt, 1 TB sesame oil and the pepper; put seasonings into the meat. Set aside for 15 minutes.
Soak the scallion slices in ice water for 15 minutes. Drain well. Mix together the soy sauce and the remaining 2 teaspoons sesame oil and toss this with the scallion slices. Set aside.
Mix the chili powder, sugar and sesame seeds together. Rub this seasoning on the inside curl of the lettuce leaves. Set aside.
Grill the steak for 1 to 3 minutes until done according to taste.
Take 1 lettuce leaf put several slices of steak in the center add about 1 tablespoon of the seasoned scallions a sliver or two of garlic fold the lettuce over the steak and eat.
