Answer:
Good question and I do agree with you!
The oranges are always sweet and juicy. I'm sure that they import them from somewhere that have a good selection all year round. We have them year round too, but as you know sometimes they aren't that great. Like right now, I keep getting slightly dry, unsweet ones.
Well my friend .. even if you go to a huge grocery store ull find good oranges !!! they import them fom difrent parts of teh world when diffrent seasons hit ...
Sorry but I have never seen oranges at oriental restaurants where I live
Because certain oranges are Mandarin!
Oranges are bought fresh anywhere from California to Israel to Australia. Mandarin oranges however are seasonal and come from China, Vietnam mostly - hits peak popularity during the Spring Festival (Lunar New Year).
restaurants always have access to better quality produce than the rest of us. when you buy in bulk you can often get better deals, too.
maybe after eating 2 (or more) plates of highly processed/mass produced chinese buffet, a mediocre slice of orange seems more special.
i'm a sucker for black pepper chicken & crab rangoon
they problaly own a orchard someplace really warm, like Brazil,(I'm just takin' a guess) And get there oranges from there
