they are all about 4 ft 1in tall and skinny as bean sproutsHow is that possible when rice is full of carbs?
Answer:
They actually eat very small portions. The portions they serve at their restaurants are 3 or 4 times more than they actually eat. Those portions were made for us fat Americans. The container of rice that comes with one order is what they'd eat the entire week!
who says carbs make you fat. I eat nothing but pasta and rice myself. And Im skinny. I never bought the whole atkins concept.
Where are you meeting your chinese people?
They also eat a lot of veggies and fish...and get plenty of exercise.
They don't eat near as much rice a serving and they use very little meat and more vegetables in their cooking. They don't eat alot of fried or breaded foods and they rarely eat dessert.
they EXCERCISE
it's the vegetables they eat with the rice...
i don't know, but my mom says they eat rice, but don't eat bread on the days they eat rice.
METABOLISM.
Carbs aren't the problem.
Thats a fad diet created to sell books to a fat/sugar obsessed American public.
RICE IS HEALTHY!!
BECAUSE CARBS DON'T MAKE YOU FAT
FAT AND LACK OF EXCERCISE MAKE YOU FAT
Because Rice is low fat. Calories from fat is less than 30%.
No McNuggets.
dont they ride bikes all the time in china?
Rice really isn't fattening. Also, the eat lots of fish and they walk everywhere.
your clearly a clever guy, what a fantastic question. Not!
it's not the carbs... (gee thank you atkins for brainwashing everyone about this) ....
it's the CALORIES!
look at rice... come on i eat mega loads of it i'm skinny.
sheesh.
rice doesn`t make you fat...if you know how to cook it
Simple -- Chinese people work very hard (the average work day in China is 11 1/2 hours, compared to the U.S. which averages 8 1/2 hours) and they don't stuff themselves like Americans do. Most of us have learned very bad eating habits, myself included. The Chinese usually only have enough food for everyone in the family to get some, but not enough to be completely full (and in many cases not enough to make them healthy and strong).
They eat other things too, which are very healthy and low in fat.
Also they walk everywhere they go. The streets are too crowded to drive a car unless you drive 20mph. At that point, you just walk or bike it.
Traffic is bad in a lot of parts on China, so most people walk.
not all carbs are bad. for instance, wheat bread is much better than white bread. just remember the food pyramid. the bread and grains category was the biggest one. the atkins diet is just a gimick. if you cut carbs out altogether from your diet, yeah you will lose weight, but it is also unhealthy. you need those carbs just like you need protein and other nutrients. if you want to watch your carbs, then eat more brown like wheat bread and brown rice.
because they burn all the energy off because all they get to eat is rice and vegetables,
I would have to guess that it has to do with the high amount of B-complex vitamins found in rice. It makes causes your metabolism to work faster/better so it could be that it burns the calories more effectively than other carb foods. Also, the Asian diet in general is an equal mixture of vegetables, rice, and meat, so Chinese people aren't necessarily filling up on carbs alone. This is a generalization, of course.
PROBABLY IT′S BECAUSE THEY DON′T EAT BURGERS, HOT DOGS AND THINGS LIKE THAT.
THE RICE THEY EAT ITS ONLY BOILED, IT HAS NO GREASE, THEY EAT A LOT OF VEGETABLES, FISH AND HEALTHY THINGS.
Thts the only carbs they eat, and they exercise a lot
because their food have vegetables in them that makes it so healthy.
It is their intire diet... they have the least amount of heart disease and cancer in the world... Rice is very good for you in moderation and they eat everything in this manner.... We should learn something by them....
lack of transportation give reason for plenty of walking.
They eat what they like w/out all the junk additives we absorb here in the states...
lots of veggies, little meat, some rice, and only fruit for dessert.
even the fortune cookie was invented in the USA- for a dessert- since chinese usually only have fresh fruit for their sweet tooths.
we could learn from other cultures- huh?
They eat sensibly, unlike Westerners, thus they don't gain weight from fast food.
