Kitty said: Yes.How do you cook halal meat?-I try seach this on internet but no results found.Maybe this is a stupid question.
Mike said: oh,no,you are wrong.I have found as below for this question(How do you cook halal meat?),it will help you,my kids.
ok i know prepatory work of animal for eating is different, draining blood saying prayer over it etc, but if i were to go to a halal butchers and wanted to cook meat would i just cook it like any other kind of meat? is just for a friend im cooking for at xmas, i will obviously keep both types of meat seperately just wondering if there was anything else i should do/know?
Answer:
The cooking is nothing different. The only difference is how the animal is slaughtered. After that you can cook it anyway you want to. The obvious things, you already know them. Don't use alcohol or any sort of wine to cook it. Don't mix in any pork or non-halal (haram) meat in there. Make sure to throughly clean the utensils, pots, pans, and the serving dishes if you will be doing this at home with dishware that has been used with non-halal meat before. If you are thinking about grilling, then obviously make sure that the grill is very clean (for BBQ and stuff).
The final standing is on the Muslim individual. Some people won't eat anything made on a grill where they know that haram meat has been prepared. Other accept it as long as the grill has been throughly clean. Another group of people don't care if the grill is clean or not. And yet another group doesn't care at all about halal or haram. They will eat everything.
Muslims have the same standing on Halal as Jews do on Kosher. Some people don't care. Others think that if you take Kosher meat and put it on a grill where pork has been prepared before, it is not Kosher anymore.
You just cook it the same way x x x
You just cook it like any other kind of meat
Well, knowing the poor animal died in agony not being stunned before it's throat is cut and it's bled to death, you cook it like ordinary meat.
Short answer is no. Once you buy from a halal butcher you should keep the meet and cooking utensils aways from other meat. The process of cooking is exactly the same. The important thing to remember is cleanliness of the environment you cook the food in and oh yeah wash your hands!!
Cook it the way you would any other meat. It's only the method of slaughter that is different. It might just be easier for you to supply all your guests with halal meat, unless you're doing steak, or something like that which is easy to keep separate.
Just cook as you usually do. Just don't add ingredients that is not halal, like alcohol (don't use brandy or wishkey or wine), or blood, or pork and anything that comes from pork.
Cooking Halal meat is exactly the same as cooking any other meat, its just the way it is killed that is different, so you shouldn't have any problems.
I would recommend that you cook it with bacon on top it will keep the halal meat from drying out and will add to the flavour of the night.
You need to remember that as halal (or "jib" as it is written in arabic) meat has had the blood drained from it, it can tend to go dry when cooked, so it is best to cook jib meat with the fat on and keep it covered.
Also, to ensure that it stays jib during the cooking process, you must constantly chant "Allah Akhbar!", although you are allowed to pause to draw breath.
If you are worried that the meat may become non-jib due to pauses in the chanting, enlist the help of a friend to chant with you - just don't both draw breath at the same time!
It behaves in exactly the same way as humanely slaughtered meat. Just cook it the same way, yeah and don't mix the two types up
say besm allah and cook
u cook it the same way, but keep in mind that some muslims do not mind eating food prepared on appliances that are used 2 cook non-halal meat, but some don't. pls reconfirm with yr friend
You have had some good answers and some that are just crazy. I can tell you from experience that it depends on the cut of meat that you will be using. Everyone that said that the only difference is the way that it is processed is exactly right. If you are using a cut of beef it is best to use a slow cooking recipe and make like a main dish with vegetables and broth. Most of the people that use Halal meet make dishes similar to a stew. The person that said you must keep the area clean and keep it away from alcohol and pork is exactly right. I have cooked beef, goat, lamb, and chicken that where all halal meat, you do want to make sure that you have enough juice or liquid to make sure that your meat is juicy. If you would like to email me with your cut of meat I might be able to help you with some recipes.
Yes, you should very much keep halal meat seperate from 'other' meat, (including not preparing them on the same surfaces or using the same utensils, I think) but you can cook them exactly the same way...
But why is someone who keeps halal (presumably to keep shari'a law) celebrating Christmas, I have to wonder? LOL...
cooking is the same way, its just the meat.
yes, thas good u keep it seperate...dont cook in the same pan and all, start with a clean one.
good luck
the same way u cook normal meat. the difference is only with the way they slay it and say a prayer.
just tell him that any meat is halal and he'll eat it..come on gimme a break...they could bomb innocent people and children and refuse to eat a dead animal that was brutally murdered.
dont entertain your friend. tell him or her to eat vegetarian food
Same as regular meat.
Hi there , keep it seperate and then also make care to cook seperately and don't use alchohol or any kind of wine stuff in it simply.
Same as any other meat
Yeah! just cook it like any other meat. However most Muslims will not sit down at a table where pork is being served.A lot of muslims wont eat at the house of a person who regularly consumes pork if they know about it. Some will eat with you if they can be sure non of that pork fat touched their dish. Certanly don't fry it in bacon grease or put it on the same plate with pork. Down here in the south USA they put bacon in vegetables .
It seems trivial to Christians since they have eaten pork since wild boars roamed forest in days of olde.
Muslims don't evn like soap made with pork fats and wont eat jello or marshmallows.
Cooking meat you can do it however you please. Muslims like meat tender and slow cooked. with basmati rice. Just re-assure the person ahead of time that nothing haram will be on the table. They may refuse to eat with you if you serve wine. You should ask them how they feel about YOU drinking alchohol. It depends on the persons exposure and how strict they are with themselves. Their religion teaches them to avoid that thing "about which there is doubt". So your job as a hostess is to assure them that there won't be any HARAMS at your table.
That would also include half naked women by the way. Sit him next to another man . They won't feel comfortable next to a woman unless they are sophisticated and experienced socially. So how well well do you know them?
You can cook it in exactly the same way as any other. I know it can be difficult. I belong to a cooking club and there is this muslim girl who goes on and on about halal meat being less stressed at slaughter and tasting better. Personally, and other's in the club cannot taste the difference either! I hope your muslim friend appreciates the concerns over them. You sound like a very caring person.
