gram flour (chickpea flour) onions. onion seed and whatever else you would like such as ground cumin or coriander or even curry powder. Put the gram flour in a bowl and add water to make a fairly thick batter and add the other ingredients. Then take spoonfuls and drop into hot oil. I like mine quite runny. If you look up a recipe for pokora and just use onions instead of all the veg, it will be fine.

Ingredients:
2 medium onions sliced thinly
1 cup gram flour( besan)
3 tbsp. rice flour
1/2 tsp tumeric (haldi)
1 tsp cumin powder
1/2 tsp red chili powder
salt & pepper to taste
Oil for deep frying (veg or canola)
Method:
Mix all the ingredients with sufficient amount of water so that the mixture is not too watery but so that the onions are coated well with a thick, a little dry coating of the lour. Deep fry in small batches.
Variations: spinach, potatoes, paneer, green peppers, cauliflower can all be made using this basic recipe.
