line it with lettuce or cabbage leaves (so that whatever you're steaming does not stick to the bamboo) then place your food in it .. cover ... and fit over a pot of boiling water .. the water should not touch the steamer.

just fill wok 1/2 way with water and put to boil
when water starts to boil place steamer in wok
u've got to use a wok (and the special wok lid) that looks like thai farmer's hat.
u put water in the work, (maybe about 2-3 cm), bring it to the boil.
next put ur steamer on top, and lastly ur food on a porcelain/stainless bowl -I assume is DIM SUM? and steam it. close the lid. when the water gets too low, add more water
and there u go
