Mike said: oh,no,you are wrong.I have found as below for this question(How long does kimchi keep for?),it will help you,my kids.
I have some kimchi that's been in the fridge for a cvouple of months, will it be ok to eat still? How long does it keep for?
Answer:
Kimchi is wonderful -- it keeps for ages! Like other pickles, sauer kraut, etc. it keeps literally for several years -- originally, without refrigeration. If your kimchi is commercial, it should keep over a year; if it's home-made by someone you trust as long or longer.
Just to be safe, I suggest first does it look right, then give it the sniff test, then a small taste. If you get that far enjoy.
Kimchi is good for several weeks in the refrigerator.

It depends on the type you got. I have eaten 6 months old kimchi and I'm still alive and well. But what I ate was homemade and very spicy. Most pickled, fermented, marinate vegetables can keep for a long time refrigerated. But I would probably draw the line at the one year mark.
