Answer:
24-48 hours...
Guacomole is best eaten within 12 hours of making it..
If you want to make alot at once, place it in ice cube trays and freeze, store cubes in a freezer bag, you can then remove a few cubes and thaw to eat.. (Stores for 6 months frozen so be sure to date the bags)
It'll go brown on the top before anything actually unhealthy happens to it. Try squeezing some lemon juice just over the exposed part at the top, or leave as little air between it and the top of the container as you can.
You should definitely use guacomole within the next day or so. It tends to go bad pretty fast.
Maybe a day if you're lucky. No matter how much lemon juice you put on the guac, it's still going to go brown eventually. I tend to try and make guac in small amounts so I'm not wasting too much.
I estimate 7 days. But Like the gal said, it'll turn brown first. Some fresh lemon juice might keep it from discoloring.
when in doubt use the fish and guest rule.
3 days.
About 2-3 days if covered tightly and stired once a day with a few drops of lemon juice mixed in. Should be air tight.
Mine kept nicely.
at least a week i would think (( it dosent last that long in my house. hehe )) but when you make it, if you add a few drops of lemon juice (( dosent have 2 be freshly squeezed or anything )) it will keep it from turning that yucky brown color
It goes brown the first day... but it will keep for like three I think... my mom makes it all the time.
You should use it within the next day. To keep it from browning, squeeze lemon juice over it and place a piece of cling wrap over it and press the cling wrap down until it touches the guacamole, so there is no air between the gucamole and cling wrap, which causes it to brown.
All the other suggestions are great. Try leaving the pits in the guacamole, it works but not a miracle by far. I won't eat it after a day not so much because it's unhealthy, more so because the taste is awful.
If it turns green, throw it out!
Lemon juice will help keep it from turning brown, but alters the taste. Instead, use this tip: after the guacamole is prepared, take the avocado pit and plop it down right into the mashed mix. Something about this helps prevent the browning. Guacamole is best eaten as soon as it is prepared, so, try not to make more than you'll need at any given time. If you make it yummy enough, there probably won't be any left over, anyway!
Now I'm craving some...with Tostitos Lime Tortilla Chips.....umm!
I WOULDN'T KEEP IT OVER A WEEK OR UNTIL THINGS START GROWING IN IT, THEN IT'S TIME TO TOSS.
Fresh until it turns charcoal color.
maybe a day.
If you put lime juice in it, that will help.
It goes bad within a couple of days; however, if you made a lot more than you need, keep in mind that it freezes REALLY well!
just add some lime juice and a halfed lime seal tight and freeze-if your not going to have it the next day ( i'm surprised you have any leftovers - musta done something wrong with your recipe ! )
