Here are some friends with simlar question as we.And I have this question for many days,anyone help us?

Answer:
if you soak them in salt water for over night use two cups of edamame to one cup of water add 4T. of salt and let them soak, to cook you take them out of this container and saute them into 2T of olive oil for a few moments, just stir fry until crisp
Try starting with 1 tsp. Then increase if necessary. I use a couple pinches of kosher salt, and season it to my taste.

In my opinion, all you need is enough salt coat the edamame lightly. They are sold frozen and already cooked so -
bring a pot of water to boil and follow the directions of the package. Drain them in a colander, once they dry - use coarse sea salt and sprinkle a light coating over them and toss.
You want a few grains on each pod - so you taste a bit of the salt as you eat the bean...you definitely do not need to salt the water.
As a variation I use the Japanese chili powder with bits of black sesame - it give a nice kick if you like spicy... enjoy!
