It turned out good I guess, I wasn't sure what to expect, so I thought it did. I used black construction paper instead of seaweed though. Ummm... what can I use instead of a bento box? Without purchasing anything.

Answer:
Are you planning on eating the construction paper? You don't have to have seaweed on it; sometimes, onigiri is simply rice. For a bento, you can use anything box-like, as long as it's lined with plastic wrap. Try using a small, child's shoe box wrapped with gift wrap and lined with plastic wrap; it has a lid, so all you need to do is tie it with a ribbon.
Is this a joke? Do you intend to eat the construction paper?
Instead of a bento box put it in a shoebox!! That should further enhance the cardboard flavor. . . .
Okay, dearie, if you are serious. . .remove onigiri from paper immediately and wrap it in saran wrap. Geez.
You can also carefully coat your onigiri with sesame seeds either toasted or untoasted. Using a chinese take-away rectangle container with a lid is a good idea for an O-bento box.
Other things you might like in your box for lunch or a snack may be fresh cut vegetables like cucumber and carrot . You can cut them in rounds then use a shaped cutter to change the shape to a leaf or flower. You may just want to fill the box with different flavoured onigiri. Tuna mixed with mayonaise is a nice filling in the centre of onigiri. Don't put too much as the oil from the mayo and the tuna could make it fall apart. If you have access to an asian foods store you may like to try umeboshi in the centre instead. Umeboshi the soft pitted type is a slightly tart, preserved , type of little plum.
