maybe because turkeys are not indigeneous to china I've never heard of a chinese turkey. Older more ancient Recipes are invented according to what kind of edible meat is around and china is very traditional when it comes to food. Well, during the American Thanksgiving holiday time, the large hotels and fine restaurants do offer turkey. But, come to think of it - you're right! I haven't seen much turkey around here...
Turkeys, as tasty as they are, are native to North America,and therefore would probably not be a staple to the Chinese,but I think Generals turkey or sesame turkey would be rather delicious! you inspired me to ask a simular question.
Turkeys were not found in China.
Maybe there was not any turkey in China...Do you have many European cuisine which offer alligator ?
