Mike said: oh,no,you are wrong.I have found as below for this question(Japanese food in Hawaii. What is it?),it will help you,my kids.

I Love Japanese food (mostly sushi)! However, I have yet to try this one very colorful dish. I have no clue what they are!!! They kinda look like balls. They come in a myriad of colors, such as pink, green, white and yellow. What are they? ( I think I tried one at 711. a pink bread ball filled with hot chicken. Not sure if its the same snack, tho!) Thanks! :D

Answer:
It sounds like a chinese snack. They are domed round with a flat side, the breading is usually steamed or baked, with meat fillings inside.

If that's the case, it might be ____ Bao. (Whatever is the filling is filled into the space).

A common filling is Char siu, which is pork (sometimes dyed red), hence the name Char Siu Bao. ("Char" you got, "shoe", "bow" is in bow of a ship). Hey it's a wild guess. Good luck.

PS they are colored so the clerk knows which one to get.
I Think they are fish balls. The batter can be made with any pounded or ground meat so it comes in many colors. They are boiled or deep fried and served with a variety of sauces for different flavors.

fish balls
yup bula'ia got it right...it's bao...or more commonly called manapua in hawaii. at 7-11 they have different colored breads to differentiate the type of filling. Chinese places will have special designs or stamps on their manapua to tell the difference. you can get them all over the place. if you liked 7-11 manapua from chinatown or any dim sum restaurant will be to die for!
?I have to agree with the previous answers.
(I must say, I've never seen it in many colors though!)
I think it's 'manapua' and it's Chinese, not Japanese.
"Manapua is Hawaiian slang for the Chinese food cha siu bau (pork-filled bun)."

Although in Japan, our 7-11 stores sell 'nikuman', served hot and steaming:

...which seems to be the same thing, in my opinion.
☆Take a look at this site for a better reference.

You must definitely try it!
It's sooooo delicious, I think you'll like it.(^_-)-☆
~And if you love sushi (and sashimi)--> like I do (!) -
you MUST come to Japan and have it here.(*^o^*)
It's the BEST!?
You can try 'nikuman' while you're here too!
Hope this helps!?
ball? snack?
I don't know what are you talking about.

If you mean sushi, there are many kind of Sushi.
And there is a Sushi served in a ball called "Chirashi-zushi".
You can buy this one at 7-11 in Japan.
