I am in need of a recipie for wet burritos. The true mexican style - not haciendas version please. Can you help?
Answers:
burritos aren't an authentic mexican dish but I think this is what you mean. you probably don't want to get into making all the ingredients from scratch so this is how we do it. buy some large burrito size tortillas and a can or two of las palmas enchilada sauce (red or green), Green onions (diced) a large can or two of refried beans ( I use rosarita brand) and the type of meat that you want to use (not hamburger). cut the meat into small bite size pieces and brown in a large skillet, add one or two cans of sauce depending on how much meat you have. simmer meat until very tender. heat the beans and tortillas. to assemble, lay out a tortilla and spread some beans on the tortilla near one end, spoon some meat onto the beans and add diced onions, then roll the tortilla around the mixture and fold burrito style, plate the dish and cover with sauce. you can add Grated cheese, spanish rice, avocado, tomatoes or something else if it suits you. hot sauce, cilantro or oregano are used to spice it up.
