Here are some friends with simlar question as we.And I have this question for many days, anyone help us?
Kitty said: Yes.Low-Fat Restaurants?-I try seach this on internet but no results found.Maybe this is a stupid question.
Mike said: oh,no,you are wrong.I have found as below for this question(Low-Fat Restaurants?),it will help you,my kids.
I'd like to eat out at either Chinese or Indian restaurants. Could anyone suggest what to order or what not to order?? I'm gettinng sick of salad & want something ethnic.
Answer:
Any food ordered at a restaurant is not as healthy as the home cooked version. Restaurant food tastes great because it's cooked in butter and laden with cream. Esp some Indian restaurants, which can be on the oily side.
I suggest that if you are so health conscious, try making some of your fav dishes at home.
But if you are in an Indian restaurant:
order naans/rotis (ask for no butter), steamed basmati rice, veggies or other curries that are yogurt based. Stay away from dishes with descriptions containing the words like "buttery", "creamy", "coconut"...
daals and lentils are healthy. In general, south Indian food tends to be healthier. Idlis are great, they are steamed. Dosas are healthy as well.
You can always ask your waiter, he will (or should be)
familiar with the food from that particular restaurant.
Chinese? Low Fat? Even the stir fry veggies are deep fried. I worked in a Chinese restaurant.
here a list of calories in indian food. hope can help:
