Mike said: oh,no,you are wrong.I have found as below for this question(Made my chili too hot/spicy! I need to mellow it, I made a large batch.?),it will help you,my kids.
I heard you can put a peeled potatoe in, and it will absorb some of the spice, true? I have it one in the chili, so I guess we'll see. Anything else I can try?
Answer:
Tomato soup or tomato sauce/paste will distill it.
add honey
Sour cream is what people in India and Pakistan use when they've made their food too spicy. It helps a lot.
when my food is tooo spicy i add a lil' sugar. it always work for me. good luck!
A potato only takes some salt out of broth. sorry.. I have tested this and its the salt in the potato thingy...
I have done the same thing so many times.. I put half of the chili in a refrigerator container and keep it cold til I can use it.
Now with the rest, I make a box or two of macaroni and cheese and stir it in. It breaks up the heat and actually is good chili mac. We like it so well I make it like that purposefully when we have eaten half the pot of chili.
Now this is only for the chili experimental.. With the macaroni and cheese chili.. I add a big can of peaches that I chunked up. It was delicious if you like something different. I tried it with straight chili, no mac and cheese, and it was equally wonderful.
Sounds wild huh.. but I won a chili contest with it... it is 'different' chili.
try adding tomato soup
yes, potatoes
RE: my chili 2 hot/spicy!
When making hot dishes, eg. tandoori chicken,1 mixes plain yogurt+masala etc. If I use less spice & more yogurt it helps. +yogurt. Serve rice & 'sambals'. Ingredients vary:-chopped tomatoes, onions, cucumber, grated carrots, OMIT CHILI. +chopped bananas & coconut 2. #Midge
You could add a 14 or so oz. can of stewed or crushed tomatoes. Add mor if needed.
try plain yogourt this is what Indians use to soften the spice
