Muslims avoid pork in any form including lard and gelatin. The also are not supposed to eat carrion, carnivores or the animals forbidden to Jews, including things like shark meat or whale meat or anything like that.
Hindus are the ones who generally avoid any beef products, because the cow is considered sacred. Many, not all, Hindus are vegetarians but that is not to imply that they are like the many Buddhists that generally abstain from meat.
Remember that not all of any religion follows all the tenets of their faith, so you will see some people doing what their religion forbids.
But it is probably best if you don't offer your Muslim buddy a ham sandwich, or your Hindu buddy, a cheeseburger.
