Ugh, they're both busy as hell and both really expensive.

But I would choose New York. California is one big cluster-f*** when it comes to traffic and everything.

Neither. Both suck. Both are overrated. Both are unfit for human habitation. I wouldn't let myself be pigeonholed like that where I would be forced to a choice like that. No job is worth that.
Definitely NY where the people are real. Crazy, but real. LA lives up to its reputation as a bunch of fakes.
It depends on what your interests are. I lived in LA (area) for a while. I think I would try NY for a change.
I havent been to new york but if i had to choose a job I wouldent choose any cause jobs suck

New York.... I've never seen so much smog in my life when I lived in SoCal. You can barely see the Hollywood sign on most days. It's just hazy. Plus the traffic... and the drivers..... mudslides.... wildfires..... earthquakes..... It's rainy outside and everyone on the road freaks out over a little rain because they're only used to 76 degrees and sunny.
L.A. to my mind
If I were you stay in LA and have a great life. New York is too rowdy to be. If the job offer is a little bit higher than LA then consider the offer but not if they have the same conditions.

The air in Los Angeles is SO BAD, it more than makes up for the nicer weather. Given the choice, I'd rather live almost ANYWHERE than LA.

L.A all the way. We have everything here, beaches, deserts, mountains with snow in the winter, traffic, great Mexican food, good weather most of the year and smog. So Cal is like one big city with everything in it.
