for instance on a cheese cake that i bought it said on the ingrediens natural flavour

Answer:
think of it as the extracted and concentrated essence of any given natural food, like banana or kiwi. artificial flavors are chemicaly produced and try to match the natural flavors, or not (like blue rasberry is not a natural flavor)
Sometimes you just don't want to know this answer. If you were a McD french fry the natural flavor is beef extract.
I bet that made a few veggie's go crazy..
In cheesecake it might be rennet which is an animal enzyme.
