It looks like in UK supermarkets the 'Discovery' brand has a firm monopoly on selling jalapenos (and generally Mexican style foods) but there must be some other company out there who sell jalapenos at a cheaper rate for bigger jars?

Answer:
Try Lupe Pintos Deli - they have a web-site which lists their products, and do mail order when you phone them on either 0131 2286241 or 0141 3345444. (they don't charge the earth for postage and packing either) They specialise in Mexican food and have a very wide range at reasonable cost. As you will see from the phone numbers they have retail outlets at 313 Great Western Road Glasgow and 24 Leven Street Edinburgh. Good Cooking!
Costco. (if you know someone with a card). You can eat them with everything then, like my man!
Does the International section at Tesco and ASNA not have in the Mexican food section ones from the USA under the Old El Paso brand.

The only thing is, even here in Canada we have a variety or jarred versions and some in tins from Mexico, size will be an issue unless you can find a wholesaler who sell to the public and can get a 4 litre jar.
Here in California my market has Ortega brand.
But .. ..www.ortega.com
The can (Tin) says Product of Peru.
You really know you should ask your store manager.
With out a request from the customers the corporation rules.
Since your looking for Big jars !! you might might look at resturant supply stores.
there is a mexican shop with a brand called "la coste?a", I think their website is www.elazteca.co.uk they are based in london. I got some corn flour to make tortillas from them last christmas.
