I need to celebrate it with real food, (no Taco Bell stuff for me!!)and need to know how to properly peel my chilie. Any experts out there? I dont want to do it wrong, I hear you have to be carefull or you could get chilie juice in the eyes and it burns. Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Take chile and place on grill or open flame. Burn skin (the chile skin, that is) and, once burned, peel the skin off :)

Tastes great with Corona :) Lemon please. No lime.

Dip you chilli for moment in hot water, you call it blanching, then transfer to iced water, peel comes out very simply.

And what is so bad about the "skin" on a PEPPER, that it has to be peeled?

i was at a carnival once, and they had a monkey that would peel a chili. if the monkey didn't do it right, some bearded lady would come out and spank the monkey. since you're unsure I would advise against even trying. you would be better off buying a can or two of ortega chilis. they are very good and you don't have to hassle with them, these are what I use when I'm in a hurry and don't feel like doing the extra stuff. don't listen to chickenlittle, he's from texas and everybody knows they don't know what the're talking about.
