Mike said: oh,no,you are wrong.I have found as below for this question(Pho peppers?),it will help you,my kids.

Ok I just went to pho empire here in Dallas. There was a pepper along with the basil and other such things. It looked a lot like a jalape?o but it was much longer and much hotter. I just wanted to know if anyone knows what type of pepper this might be.

Answer:
I could have been a serrano, but more tradtionally they use the small thai style bird chilis, alot more fiery than a serrano.

I prefer the sriacha sauce or the chili paste, more like the chinese chilis in oil they serve on the tables.

In Toronto Canada were I live, we have alot of Vietnamese restaurants, each has a different selection on there accompaniment trays, I am into the Vietnamese coriander, a flat long spikey leaf, and use the thai basil only.
may be a Habernero pepper
just a regular ol' chili pepper (skinny, long, red or green), or a jalapeno.
They do use Serranos a lot of the time.
