Answer:
Saffron Braids
Traditional, delicious Swedish buns!

1 pkt. (1.75 oz) yeast
? cup (6 TBSP) butter
2 cups milk
1 pinch (1 g) saffron
1 tsp salt
3/4 cup sugar
4 ? cups flour

1.Crumble the yeast in a bowl.

2. Melt the cooking fat, pour on the milk and heat the liquid until lukewarm, 100 degrees F.

3. Stir the yeast with parts of the liquid. Add the rest of the liquid, along with saffron, salt and sugar. Stir cautiously until yeast is dissolved.

4. Knead in enough flour to make the dough smooth and supple. It should not stick to the bowl. Sprinkle some flour over the dough.

5. Allow to rise under tea-towel to double size, approximately 45 min.

6. Knead the dough for a few minutes in the bowl. Then knead them on the pastry board along with the rest of the flour.

7. Make braids or lengths. Put them on greased plates or oven paper.

8. Let them rise under tea-towels until they are nearly double the size.

9.′Brush with whipped eggs.

10. Bake in lower part of oven at 200 degrees for 15-20 min

Whatever you make... take some Swedish fish. I worked with a couple of interns from Sweden a few years back. They chuckled and said that it's actually a good version of a very common Swedish candy... seriously.

So unlike French Fries that are not at all French. Swedish fish, really are Swedish.
How about a simple Swedish Apple cake, it is similar to a pineapple upside down cake, but you use apples, brown sugar and cinnimon and if you have it some ground cardamon, mix the apples with the sugar and spices witha small amount of lemon juice.

The just use a packaged yellow cake mix, adding a bit more oil and some sour cream, but don't overmix. Pour it over the apple mix in the pan and cook it for about 10 more minutes than the maximum the mix recommends.

Cool it and then dust it with powdered sugar and a some ground almond, you can serve it with a bit of whipped cream or plain.

It has recipes for quite a few tasty desserts that can be prepared easily from home ..
Go to the food dept. at IKEA and buy some of the ready made desserts. They have all kids of cakes and pastries. They sell lingonberries too.
