Answer:
first course would normally be some kind of soup like tomato, celery, mushroom etc. Main courses are as others have suggested. Desserts would be a pudding - no-one makes puddings like the English. Bread and Butter Pudding is the classic.
But don't forget - Britain is made up of 4 distinct and individual areas - England, Scotland, Wales and N. Ireland. Each region has its own traditional foods. The answers above have been English.Hopefully you'll get some input from the Scots, (can't beat good quality authentic Haggis with Neeps & Tatties), Welsh and Irish too.

It depends entirely upon which part of the country you are visiting. In Lancashire they have Lamb 'hot-pot' in Yorkshire we have Yorkshire pudding, roast beef and vegetables, in Cumberland they do a fantastic sausage. In Scotland there is hagis, which is also good eating. Each area has its own unique dish or dishes, and they're all good food. I don't know of any web sites that give the recipes of each area, but there are plenty of books available in book shops in England. When you get here visit Waterstones book shop and you'll be able to get all the information that you require.

people in the uk have forgotten how to cook, and think that junk food is the only british food that exists! Traditional and delicious dishes involve slow cooked meats such as lancashire hotpot, beef cobbler, shepherds pie etc. We rule the world in hot puddings, fruit crumbles, treacle sponges, all served with custard.bread and butter pudding (done right and served with cream this is to die for!)
Gary Rhodes (a celebrity chef) has a book called New British Classics, not sure how you'd get recipies on the net tho. Or try www.bbc.co.uk/food. Click on recipies on the right, then from the programme drop down choose Great British Menu.
My God ...when you read the list below is it any wonder the foreign takeaways do a roaring trade over there !
