There are hundreds of shapes of pasta, and each of them can be found dried or fresh. We see only a small number of these shapes in North America, and I'm sure the same is true in most of the world. Part of this is because every family has it's own variations. You will find some regions of Italy to favour some shapes over other shapes, but part of that is because of everything that's grown in the region and how well any given shape of pasta works with any given condiment. (Italians think of pasta sauces as condiments instead of sauces.) Further, pastas just scratch the surface of Italian foods.
You may as well ask people to count the stars in the sky or the grain of sand in a sandbox as ask anyone to name all of the types of Italian foods.
