All corn originated in central and South America. There are hundreds of wild varieties, their appearances can vary greatly. Corn is actually in the grass family, some of the varieties indeed look a lot like oversized lawn grass. Kind of odd that it ended up in "Chinese" cuisine, since it's not even from the same continent originally.
little corn things, we know what were talking about, who needs a fancy name!
i think you have your answer..BABY CORN
Baby corn. You usually can find them in the canned vegetable section or in the "Ethinic" section of your grocery store.

Baby corn...although I recall they are more related to bamboo shoots than to actual corn. Yummy in stirfry and hotpot :)
My baby (daughter) loves 'em...BABY corn =)
that's baby corn.
Personally those things make me shudder. They are unnatural. Can you just imagine what kind of farm grows baby corn? On stalks 8 inches high, Ibet. Guess it wouldn't take much acreage though.
