I don't think Chinese people eat the same stuff that's served in Chinese restaurants. What's the typical dinner at a Chinese family's home?

My family is Indian and we definitely do not eat the same stuff that's served at the typical Indian restaurant. Just curious...

Thanks.

Answer:
Depending on where the Chinese families live and what local produce, meats and grains are available.

In the US, traditional southern Chinese families would make a couple of stir-fried dishes (vegetables, meats, etc.) and eat them with steamed rice. Northern Chinese families would substitute mantou (steamed buns) or Chinese breads for rice. Noodle soups are also popular.
Um... maybe chinese food..
Hate to burst your bubble, but they eat rice, lots of it, and fresh vegetables quickly stir-fried or in soup.
Chinese food like moo goo gai pan, rice ,noodles, and fried wanton
I'm not Chinese but most Chinese people have there own restaurants so they don't have to eat at home.
food
rice, rice, rice, and fresh vegatables
Actually they do eat the same things at home. Most food in restaurants is stir fried, or steamed and served with rice. This is also typiclay cooking at home. Chinese women (tratitionally) are big cooks. They can cook 10 different dishes in 20 minutes. Most things are cooked in huge woks on top of powerful gas burners.
They cook a lot of food fast, and serve it piping hot.
American chop suey.
Leftovers, same as the rest of us.
Real chinese food-- no moo gu or chop suey or Americanized. Stir-fries, rice or noodles, soup, buns, dim sum, etc.
chinese food
they eat mi-foon and fish ball soup
Rice
We eat a whole lotta rice! That's pretty basic, and it depends on what part of Asia the family is from.
My family's from Taiwan. We normally eat a lot of seafood, fish and veggies... and heaps of rice!

We don't eat Chinese food ALL the time though. Believe it or not, Chinese people are people too (^_^)v
We like to eat different foods! My family likes a little Italian, Mexican or all-American and even that crazy Americanized-Chinese food. My weird favorite is getting fresh tortillas from the Mexican market (I live in Texas, so they're good!) and wrapping dry tofu, beef and bean sprouts in it! Yum!

P.S. I like Indian food too!
RICE... and some other type of dish
:)
