Answer:
I like them, and am going to turn the pastry as suggested in future---thanks
I quite like them!
deeeeeeeeelicious
lovely
Used to get served steak and kidney and that's why I now hate it!
a bit sickening....havnt seen them in a long time....like that youve got this question under ethnic cusine!
This is really close to my Fray Bentos question. I haven't had one but they look awful.
Got me through 1st term of 1st year at uni, since then, I've not had one.
Used to quite like their Steak and Kidney Puddings too!
They suck
i like the pastry,my mate turns it over half way through cooking it so its crispy on both sides but i like how the pastry stays soggy.
I used to like them. Until I found out what was in em!
They are full of fat and calories but delicious. A good emergency to keep to one side if something goes wrong with a meal.
Can't stand them!! Only eat home made pies...and luckily for me my nanna is a wkd cook! ;-)
The best you can get!! Minced beef and onion, just perfect!! And they must NEVER be shared!!
not into processed rubbish, would rather make my own pies
Nasty, wouldn't eat them ever xx
classic student food, used to live off them at uni. embarrassed to say the used tins make good ashtrays!
haven't touched them (or the cigs) since.
Fray Bentos. These are from Uruguay and are generally very good, and are excellent value for money. Fray Bentos and Princes sem to be the best in tinned meat pies.
Pukka pies (an English brand) are superior, but they are hard to find, except in chip shops. I e-mailed Pukka's web site to see if I could get some to freeze, but they did not deign to reply.
I have worked as a chef, and I can make pies that are superior to Pukka or Fray Bentos, but, for the average bod, Fray Bentos are just the job. Pukka are better, but if they cant be bothered to reply to my e-mails, then I can scarcely give them a plug. Fray Bentos, on the other hand, gave me a very detailed reply as to their sourcing of meat, their abhorrence of using mechanically recovered meat (slaughterhouse sludge) and even a guide to the mass production of pastry. OK, Fray Bentos is not exactly Gordon Ramsay (ptui!) or Antony Worrall Thompson grub, but I do feel that they lead the market in terms of quality. If Pukka could respond, they might get a decent comment, but how can I recommend a product whose sales staff canot be bothered to sell?
there ok!
My partner loves them that's what I was thinking to do for dinner with chips today.
