I love the home cooking in "family" cookbooks made up of recipes passed down in families. The one found at http://www.cafepress.com/chucheria/79986... is a cookbook based on family recipes used in the Casa Molina restaurants from Tucson, Arizona and old Sonoran style items.
My husband cooks very good Mexican food but since you ask for a cookbook I would have to say Trader Vics.
TRY one written by DIANE KENNEDY ,she is the best
1. Diana Kennedy, "The Cuisines of Mexico" or "Recipes from the Regional Cooks of Mexico." These are the very best. Highly authentic, thoroughly reported, wonderfully written, great to read as well as to cook from. Some recipes are simple, some are complex, all are authentic.
2. Diana Kennedy, "The Tortilla Book." Also a great cookbook.
3. "Cocina de la Familia," Marilyn Tausend & Miguel Ravago. These are also authentic recipes but interestingly, the authors have collected recipes both from people in Mexico and from Mexican-American families in the U.S. Can be an interesting comparison with the Diana Kennedy cookbooks because some of these recipes - I'm thinking of a chicken-mole recipe in particular - are authentic-but-simplified takes on the traditional recipes collected by Kennedy.
4. I like reading Rick Bayless's books and I have enjoyed cooking from them when I house-sit for a friend, but I have not bought any of them yet.
