Low and slow and smothered in onions! Take the liver, salt and pepper it and roll in flour. Heat oil in a skillet until hot, reduce heat to low, place liver in skillet while it's hot to sear it on both sides, cover with sliced onions and cover. depending on how thick the liver is cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side. Remove liver and continue to cook onions until translucent. Remove onions. Stir flour to remaining oil to make a roux, add salt and pepper. Turn heat on high. Slowly pour water into roux, stirring constantly to make gravy. Add liver and onions to gravy and allow to simmer for a couple of minutes. Enjoy!! I love liver and onions, but if you overcook the liver it will be tough.

Well you could dip it in flour and fry it in margarine. If you like onions, you could fry up some and put them on top of the liver. First you let it soak in milk over night in the container after draining out all the blood. After it has soaked for 24 hrs., put it in beaten egg then dust with seasoned flour, and fry it in canola oil until nice and brown. It doesn't take long to cook thoroughly. Let cool, and enjoy. Chicken liver prepared this way is better than beef liver. It is more tender.

zbelle60 has it right on the money!!!!!!! Use her recipe! MMMMMM, my mom used to make it that way. SO good. Chicken is still better than beef though.

Dredge liver slices in flour and shake off excess. Add to a skillet that has a little almost smoking oil in it. Turn in one minute or when first side is browned. Add sliced onions to the top and pour some beer on it (about half a can) and simmer with lid cracked until tender and liquid is evaporated. salt and pepper to taste. serve with potatoes. in someone elses house it stinks

Cut into half inch slices, dredge in flour and pan fry (shallow fry in oil or butter) for less than a minute until crispy on the outside (still raw on the inside) Place aside...In the same pan now fry smokey bacon until crisp, sweat onion, place aside, now deglaze the pan with stock or wine and make a gravy and reduce. Place all ingredients in a casserole dish and chuffle in a moderate oven for about an hour. Served with mashed potato...Yum...Yum..truely!!

Dredge each piece in flour, salt and pepper to taste, and sear both sides in hot EVOO (extra virgin olive oil) or butter. Smother with slices of Walla-Walla onion, reduce heat to medium-low and cook covered until tender (turning once).
