Kitty said: Yes.What is the best way to get tortillas flatter?-I try seach this on internet but no results found.Maybe this is a stupid question.
Mike said: oh,no,you are wrong.I have found as below for this question(What is the best way to get tortillas flatter?),it will help you,my kids.
I have made tortillas twice now, following the recipe my Mexican friend gave exactly, once even with her help, but they still come out too thick and too stiff.
Answer:
i have a press if you dont have a press then you can use a piece of plastic. like a plastic bag and flatten the tortilla until as flat as you want then take the tortilla out. because you use the plastic bag they wont stick good luck and send me some lol
You can make them flatter yourself. It is like me with Enchilados I make them too big since I have been making them for 3 weeks.
less flour maybe? And use shortening, not butter. I haven't had a lot of luck with presses, and I think you only use them for corn tortillas anyway.
Tortilla presses are cheap and are available in Latino stores as well as on e-bay.
Don't cook for too long and lightly brush with melted butter to keep them soft.
If you dont have a plata then I suggest getting one, and always use palstic wrap.
Make sure you don't over work the dough. Over working will make it stiff. I use a rolling pin to make mine flat and that way you can better control the thickness, but that's if you're makig flour ones. If you're using corn ones, a press is your best bet.
