Answer:
What you are saying is chicoo, known as sapota ( Manilkara sapota). I have a farm and I grow them. This fruit is grown all over warm india. The mature fruit are taken from the tree washed thoroughly and packed. they require 2to3 daysfor ripening. It can be eaten with the skin and it is very sweet. it is used in milk shake ,fruit salads and ice cream. there is someone who is also making chicoo powder. chicoo wine and chicoo liquor is made by the tribals and non-tribals of our area, its beautiful . my farm is located 120 km north from Mumbai, India. There is a latex which flows upon injury to fruit which was used to make chewing gum. I can go on writing but not aware what you want
Forgive me if I am wrong ... do you mean Chikoo?
That is a fruit that grows in India ... they make ice cream with it.
Not sure about a fruit. Yeah, I looked it up and apparently in Australia chooki is like, chicken. Could be as suggested before, that the word isn't chooki, but Chikoo.
It is similar in size to a plum, the outside is brown similar to dusty coloured. The outside is inedible. Inside it's a golden brown, cut it into eighths, de-skin and get rid of the few seeds that are inside, then enjoy this fruit. This is absolutely delicious and well worth the trouble. If you have a sweet tooth you will love this.
They sell them in tesco's 99p for 4 if you fancy trying them.
