Answer:
General Tso's chicken traditionally contains oriental red peppers and is spicy as well as sweet. Over the years though, I've noticed many instances of red peppers in sesame chicken. I think that this may be a variation on the "established" recipe, and that it is not supposed to be spicy.
i've always wondered that.
there's no difference really... the general tso's chicken is just missing the sesame seeds to make it sesame chicken. plus, tso's is also listed "spicy" so they might out some chile peppers in..
General Tso's Chicken can be a lot hotter, or ordered mild (SPICY). Sesame Chicken is never spicy.
Well, It depends were you are dinning. In HK might be different. In USA, might be the same, except for hot peppers for the General. White meat vs dark meat. I like the white meat better, if it is fried fresh, not few hours ago.
Sesame chicken should have sesame seeds in it. General Tsos chicken usually has lots of hot pepper.
Sesame has sesame seeds and no crushed red peppers, and Tso's has no seeds and the chopped red peppers..thats it!
I used to work in a chinese restaursnt, and the best answer is it depends on the cook. There are many different styles of chinese cooking. Have you ever noticed that the same dish at different chinese restaurants look and taste different?
Most of the time sesame chicken is rolled in honey glaze with sesame seeds.
Generals tso is spicy, with a tangy sauce and usually battered differently. You can make 500 different chinese dishes yourself with this guide http://tinyurl.com/ytxtnm
