    What is the difference between a shallot and a scallion?

Here are some friends with simlar question as we.And I have this question for many days,anyone help us?

Answer:
A shallot looks like garlic but the skin is a little more tan, it is a mix between an onion and garlic. A scallion looks like a smaller, thinner looking leek(long, flat, green leaves with a small white bulb at the end), also green and has more of an onion taste.
A shallot is like a small red onion, and scallions are the green onions (long ones)

Shallots are a cross between garlic and red onions and a scallion is a green onion (like a chive) they are both of the onion family and are both delicious!
