Answer:
Paneer is as stated an Indian cheese, made from cows milk, but the process, has it heated during the process to strenghten the proteins, and with this like certain Greek and Cypriot cheeses it does not melt when heated, this allows the cheese to be fried and then stewed with other veg, peas, spinach, lentils and potatoes.
In Indian restaurants you will find the dish called Peas Paneer, this a lovely dish made with lots of garlic and ginger, sauted paneer, tomatos, and socies, stewed with fresh or frozen peas, it has a creamy taste, and in the end you have the green peas flecked with the tomato and the cubes of paneer to enjoy over basmati rice, one of my favorites
Paneer is an Indian(as in from India) term that means cottage cheese, and is usually simmered in gravy and/or spices.. And cheese is just cheese.
cheese is so much better i love cheddar the new borden's blend with white and regular yellow cheddar and season herb pouch in side surely kicks up a salad
velveeta is good on top of baked potato and also in dip

Paneer is cottage cheese, in simple terms a cheese that has not been either processed or aged. Paneer is generally obtained from cow's milk, on the other hand cheese could be made from goat's milk and cow's milk. It is processed and aged and at times innoculated with fungus that gives it a blue veined tone.
Both paneer and cheese are milk products, and i guess paneer has also come to be known as a variety of cheese due to its cheese-like appearance.
Milk has to be industrially-processed to get cheese, but paneer (or cheddar cheese) was initially prepared at home, and can still be made at home easily. Just heat milk (preferrable full cream) slightly. It should be hotter than just warm. Add lemon juice (4-5 tsp. for 1kg. milk should do. These measures are open to discussion though. Milk starts crumbling- and, u habve paneer. So, basically, paneer is a result of the reaction between milk and citric acid. Wonder how processed cheese is processed?!
